Goa AI Policy 2026

The comprehensive Goa AI Policy is a strategic three-year roadmap to build, innovate and govern artificial intelligence right here in our state. Built on five core pillars; Skilling & Capacity Building, Startups & Industry Enablement, Capital & Investment, Policy Governance & Infrastructure, and Responsible, Safe & Ethical AI, the policy aims to empower Goans by training and certifying 50,000 citizens by 2030, establish 50 AI labs in government schools, support 200 Goan MSMEs annually under Udyam AI and dedicate Rs 250 Crore Goa AI Innovation Fund over three years alongside 100 GPUs of state compute capacity, reserving 10% specifically for public sector services.

AI for Governance & Social Impact

A capacity-building workshop titled ‘AI for Governance & Social Impact’ was held for various government departments. In collaboration with the Goa Institute of Management (GIM) and the IndiaAI Mission, the workshop sensitized officials on AI applications in policy formulation, administrative workflows and citizen service delivery.

Multilingual Access

The department has also signed an MoU with the Digital India Bhashini Division (MeitY) to develop a Konkani LLM, making state services accessible across local languages and backgrounds.

Citizen-Facing AI Chatbot

Developed a 24/7 digital assistant chatbot for the Goa Online Portal. It offers step-by-step guidance for citizens on service applications, required documentation, transparent processing timelines and real-time status tracking.
